Credit Reference Checks

We may share your information with, and obtain information about you from, credit reference agencies or fraud prevention agencies.

We will not disclose your information to any company other than Jay City Finance Limited’s panel of funders, except to help prevent fraud or if required by law to do so.

Information that we need

Jay City Finance Limited is both a Controller and Processer of the personal data that you provide to us. We collect personal data about you which may also include location based information. We also obtain information such as your; name, address, telephone numbers, date of birth, & email address.

Why we need this information

We need to know your basic personal data in order to provide you with a suitable recommendation for your individual circumstances. We will not collect any personal data from you that we do not need in order to provide and oversee this service to you.

What we do with it

All personal data that we use is controlled by us at Jay City Finance Limited in the UK. No 3rd parties have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so. We have a Data Protection procedure in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data.

The provision of your personal data is not a statutory requirement. However, it is necessary to enter into a contract and whilst you are not obliged to provide the data, a failure to do so would mean that we may not be able to process any application.

We may pass your data to our panel of funders in order to provide you with offers of products suitable to meet your requirements.

How long do we keep your data

We will keep your basic personal data; name, address, contact details and proposal application details for a minimum of 7 years after the termination of your Agreement at which time it will be destroyed. Any information used for marketing will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information.

Your rights

If at any point you believe our information is incorrect you can request to see the information that we hold on you and have it amended or possibly removed.

If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact our data protection officer; Ruth Topping at rtopping@jct-finance.com who will be able to assist you.

Where relevant, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time and this will mean that we cannot process your data.

If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
